Whirimako Black - Sings

This is acclaimed te reo singer Whirimako Black's sixth album and is a follow-up to her first jazz album Soul Sessions.

Trinity DVD

The first recording of a live performance from our most acclaimed Maori language singer - Whirimako Black at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in the Auckland suburb of Parnell.

Tangihaku

'Tangihaku' was originally released in 2004 and earned Whirimako a selection as a finalist in the annual TUI Awards and in a rare achievement, two out of the three compositions selected for the finals of the 2004 APRA Silver Scroll Awards in the te reo category came from this one album.

Soul Session

'Soul Sessions' is the fifth album from NZ Music award winning artist Whirimako Black. Wirimako's resume is very impressive -- her independently released debut album 'Hinepukohurangi: Shrouded in the Mist', won the Best Maori Language album award at the 2001 NZ Music Awards and is approaching Gold sales status in New Zealand.

Shrouded

'Shrouded in the Mist', released in 2001, was the debut album from legendary Maori singer, Whirimako Black.

Land of our Fathers

Lands of our Fathers is the highly sought soundtrack to the documentary exploring racial identity and the legacies of colonialism both in Zimbabwe and New Zealand. This collaboration beautifully blends strands from each culture explored and its music.

Kura Huna

The 4th album from award winning artist Whirimako Black is a unique collection of ancient Maori songs and chants, long-forgotten, are given an exciting new lease of life, hence the title 'Kura Huna' (hidden treasures).

Hohou Te Rongo

After her groundbreaking and esoteric "Shrouded in the Mist" CD, which revisited the Maori oral history through lyrics dating back to the 1900s and before, it was always going to be interesting to see what Whirimako could come up with next. It couldn't have been easy to follow such an impressive release as the aforementioned title, but she has, and with the same unique style that made her previous album so endearing.

1 Giant Leap

1 Giant Leap is the self-titled debut album by UK duo Jamie Catto and Duncan Bridgeman under the name 1 Giant Leap. It was created by the two members travelling the world and recording vocals and music by numerous artists. Whirimako contributed the single, 'Ta Moko' to the album.
